I tend to agree with you...although, C-130's, C-5's and C-17's would be dropping supplies by parachute if all else failed.

The people with the guns would be the ones retrieving the supplies though. (troops too I suppose)

Reminds me of the old Robert Heinlein story about rabbit stew. Who know that in later years they would call this sort of thing 'survivalist' sci-fi.

I would hope that troops would come with any airdropped supplies, but I hear the VHR are pretty good if you can get boiling water.
