But you can be certain that this was coordinated with the DNC, and they chose this timing. Maybe it's because of the Supreme Court openings. Maybe it's because of Blanco and Nagin.

But if you read the text of the actual indictment, it's just a bald assertion that DeLay entered into an agreement to skirt campaign finance laws. There's nothing at all alleged fact-wise to back that up. No dates, no conversations, no nothing.

And from what Napolitano on FNC was saying, TX has some pretty interesting rules when it comes to seating grand juries. Don't get me wrong, if DeLay did this and it's proven in court, then throw the book at him. But if DeLay's the victim of a political witchhunt, then Earle ought to be brought up on charges or at least disbarred.
