"The writing was on the wall."
Did anyone believe that this wasn't the place where the "investigation" would end? This will all more than likely "go away" as soon as the '06 election is over and Delay is forced to sit it out. In the meantime, the Democrats will walk all over the House Republicans since there will be no one to stop them. By the time the '06 elections are held, no self-respecting conservative will even consider voting for a Republican.

Lots of libs in Travis County. It stands to figure nowhere else in Texas could DeLay have been indicted. His attorney have a good reason to seek a change of venue due to prosecutorial bias.

DeLay tried to find ways to trim back the indictment, but there just wasn't any more fat to trim. :-)
Seriously, this smacks of a witch hunt. The timing may be fortunate, really, as it will still be fresh enough to anger Republicans at the polls in 13 months.

I know what you meant. There's nothing "just" about it IMHO.

Without looking up Dryer's record, why do I get the feeling that Dryer is less conservative than DeLay ever was? For Gods sakes, David Dryer is fraud. Those on the west coast fully understand this guy has done nothing but pander to millions crossing our borders illegally. The man hides under his desk when confronted with his total inaction.

Maybe the Republicans will start playing hardball over the LA and NO local corruption and do a real investigation. LOL, probably not (:-)

I'm sure the indictment of Hillary Clinton for conspiracy in falsely reporting campaign finances from a million dollar event in her 2000 campaign is to be forthcoming with expediency. /sarc

Associating one-self with a pol under indictment is not something most image conscious politicians will do. Nobody had a problem associating with Kay Hutchison in 1993 when Earle put up his phony indictment.
DeLay will likely lose his seat next year to that knuckle-dragging Chris Bell, redistricted out of a seat last year. This case won't come up before the election. That's what Judge Nap just said.

You think The Hammer is guilty? Probably not.
However, the Hammer believes the budget is lean so for me, this is Lott Part II.
Pence for Majority Leader.

Just ONE charge though? If they had something concrete, they'd have more - don't you think? This smells to high heaven.

I best explain my last; there's nothing "just" about the GOP falling apart to the point where Hitlery walks into the Oval Office in 2008.
I apologize in advance if you mistook my last.

Maybe this?
In one previously unreported example of the tight connections, Rep. Lamar S. Smith (R-Tex.), one of the committee's new members, was co-host of a 2002 fundraising breakfast to benefit the DeLay-founded political action committee that is now the subject of a grand jury investigation in Texas. The grand jury is looking into whether the PAC improperly used corporate funds to influence the outcome of state legislative races.

Earle is well aware of "the rules" which is why he only needed one little ole trumped up charge.
See how democrat thuggery works?
