Yep. I agree with the guy.

We put someone on the moon and then decided that the next step was merely orbiting the earth so we could do lab work in a reentry vehicle.

Amazingly near sighted.

Yep... and a reentry vehicle that lacks the power to re-enter at sub orbital speed.

It's almost like we intentionally stopped trying, and waited for the rest of the world to catch up and pass us.

Then we ran back to the starting line.

For those who say we gained a great deal of knowledge from the Shuttle program, I say of course we did. But think of the knowledge we could have gained had we not stepped back.
