Typically, references to supernatural forces are not the province of science class.

Just wondering, as you seem to be in favor of "teaching the controversy", do you also support disclaimers about religion being taught in Sunday School? I mean, what possible harm could it do to "mention" the problem with "faith" and discuss evolution and natural forces during those sessions?

I'm not interested in replies talking about government schools and the like, we are simply talking about what's good for the learner.

My church discusses all sorts of stuff - we have nothing to be afraid of.

Then why do we accept "dark matter" as a matter of faith? Because it's required to make the equations work?

I had a psychology prof once who announced to the class that he'd examined all the world's religions and found them lacking. I told him, "Don't worry, the shoe will be on the other foot one day..."

Science can attack religion all day long, and religion isn't allowed to defend itself?

Uh,BTW, just what is "the problem with faith" ?

Those are exacly the type of discussions in which my Sunday school class engages. Is there a problem with that? You seem to have some sort of "Leave it to Beaver" view of what Sunday school is about. It is explicitly for the examination of issues of faith, scipture, beliefs, evidence, contradictions, doubt, people, the universe, what if it is a multi-verse, etc., in short - learning.
