I know too many women who were "on the Pill" (or whatever) and still got pregnant.

An article in the current Psychology Today says that a study showed over one third of college females admitted lying about being on birth control to men who had "attractive qualities". If one third of college girls would lie trying to get pregnant intentionally, you have to wonder what percentage of older females more desperate for marriage do. They went on to say over 50% of births in the U.S. are attributed as unintentional.
I think you were wise to do that
