Is it really about 'parental rights?' (anti- David Parker letter)

Letter: Is it really about 'parental rights?' Thursday, September 22, 2005

How would the Article 8 Alliance or other Parker fans react if I were to hold a school hostage unless the authorities promised to allow me to opt my child out whenever Christian families were discussed, because I didn't want my children to be taught that Christianity is normal? What would they call me? A staunch defender of parental rights?

Here's an example of the offensive attitudes of the supposed "tolerant", "respectful", "no-place-for-hate" crowd in Lexington.

What an example of religious bigotry! Can you imagine him writing the phrase "Jewish families" or "Muslim families"? But it's perfectly all right to single out "Christian families".

As I understand it no one can say squat about Christianity in a public school without getting in big trouble. They can't even have Christmas trees or even easter bunnies either. Teachers can't wear crosses, etc, all so as not to offend.

What do the idiots do with parents such as myself, who object to public schools teaching "tolerance of sexual deviancy" to elementary aged children on strictly secular grounds?

That being, adult sexual deviancy is not a matter children have the capacity to judge, outside the fact that any adult trying to have any sexual conversation or contact with any child is a sexual deviant, to be avoided and immediately reported to his/her parent for disposal.

I didn't know Homosexuality was a religion? The last time I checked it was specifically about an abnormal sexual behavior that only a very small percentage of people identify with. Why not discuss other alternative sexual behaviors in school? Why not discuss how some teenage boys feel attraction to their teachers and how natural that is? It always amazes me how public schools seem to be the one place where adults can indulge themselves in talking to impressionable children about fringe sexual behaviors.
I think the best thing that parents can do to stop this is to not bother going to the board of education or making a political stink. File charges against the teachers for child sexual abuse and stick to your guns. Anyone else who exposed children to the kind of stuff that is being distributed in some public schools would face serious charges. They are trying to manipulate the sexual lives of your children as much as any pederest. They want to get impressionable children involved for two reasons, the first is that the are cowards who use kids as shields, the second is opportunity. They know there are certain types of troubled kids that are especially prone to thinking they are homosexual, I would not be surprised to find out that gay activist groups have sponsered polls to determine how to better target the most vulnerable to help bring out "latent homosexuality" all in the name of "helping the kids".

I don't think Jon Dryer has anything to worry about. The town fathers banned the nativity scene from Lexington Common years ago. I'm sure they don't have a Christmas vacation but a Winter vacation. I'm sure Christmas carols are not allowed to be sung in the schools. He does not have to worry about any yucky Christian stuff touching his kids...
