Two police officers killed themselves. Another was shot in the head. Oh, this gets richer by the minute. Wonder what these poor guys knew.
To: Shermy
Why would he know of [the phantom cops] in the first place? The superintendent would be able to calculate at what level various stations are manned based on payroll. Surely, he would have smelled something funny?
To: mware
Not sure if it is true but one poster said that the guy who was somehow in charge of all these names committed suicide. That is true.
The MSM is claiming he did so because his wife died in the storm.
Not possible. She was at his funeral.

You really don't understand politics. If Blanco and Nagin had taken the position that the administration was really helping. Been greatful. Worked with the administration and been positive giving good PR during this time..... I don't think we'd be seeing an FBI investigation right now. But instead the governor and the mayor fed a media that wants to lynch our administration anyway... and now the feds are looking into their corrupt little world. That's not a coincidence.
That's my opinion.

"If the FBI found 500 ghost officers, you can bet that NOPD "hired" them under those Washington DC grants."
Hey, lets be fair here, not all the missing officers were ghosts:

"You are going to get a lot of heat if you continue to defend Nagin and Compass."
Never defended Compass.
As for Nagin I criticize him for mostly not coordinating the return of citizens with the Feds. During the crisis I would criticize him some for his sometime panicky voice. That's about it. Most other of the criticisms were unwarranted, fueled by Bushies and Blanco/Dem supporters.
Obviously there's a racist element to it too, with the connection to Sheriff Moose. Moose is another target of racist-fueled mischief. During the sniper events people complained about to many state, federal and local voices so one was chosen for the press - Moose - in his county the first killings occurred. He was a conduit for information from the Feds who ended up leading the investigation, and he was blamed when the Fed information was faulty.

NO corruption will be ignored by the MSM. Notice, only FNC covered the resignation presserIt's getting surreal. It's as though there is two realities in the news world today.

"Compass is the fellow that sat in the SUV with Oprah and cried that babies were raped at the Superdome/Convention Center."
Didn't know that. Sounds much like Broussard's melodramatics. I guess a guilty conscience will do that.
