I am very worried about Bush's talk about making the military in charge; that goes against everything I believe in.
I think that the only way that the Feds should be allowed to take over is when there is a terrible disaster approaching and there is proof that the State Governments and locals are not capable of protecting their own people. Incapable could mean inept,corrupt,infighting,etc,etc. Instead of a total takeover for an extended time, there should be a Federal judge's order based on an Emergency hearing just to take over for about two weeks until everything has been accomplished with evacuation,search and rescue,housing for extended periods for evacuees etc. I do not think anyone wants the government to truly take over,but where lives are concerned we have to do something on a temporary basis. It is scary what this could lead to if it is not handled with Sovereignty in mind. I hate to think what a democrat President could do to mess up a State.
