Actually, anybody who followed closely notes that the first suspicions were raised here on FR because of what was visible on TV, the fact that the documents were proportionally spaced and appeared to be in a modern font. I dont even think that was Buckhead, it was someone else. And those idiots dont realize that East coast freepers were watching and posting before it showed on the west coast. Mapes is an idiot..
It actually took a few days for the lengthy rebuttals to be posted on the internet. These morons are playing up a conspiracy, oh, how could they have figured it out SOOO fast, when it took our experts HOURS to be wrong? Bunch of Liars...

Howlin posts a link to the docs ALREADY ON-LINE at 11:17PM.
Buckhead responds at 11:59PM:

Howlin, every single one of these memos to file is in a proportionally spaced font, probably Palatino or Times New Roman.
In 1972 people used typewriters for this sort of thing, and typewriters used monospaced fonts.
The use of proportionally spaced fonts did not come into common use for office memos until the introduction of laser printers, word processing software, and personal computers. They were not widespread until the mid to late 90's. Before then, you needed typesetting equipment, and that wasn't used for personal memos to file. Even the Wang systems that were dominant in the mid 80's used monospaced fonts.
I am saying these documents are forgeries, run through a copier for 15 generations to make them look old.
This should be pursued aggressively.

Mapes's assertion that the first acusations of forgery occurred before the docs were available for viewing is a lie.
And they never learn. They tangled with FR once and FR delivered them a knockout punch. Now they want some more? LOL
That was me. It wasn't even the fonts. It was the formats and headings of the memo. They memo was in a format that the USAF didn't use until the early 90s. There is no way that a memo written in 1972 could perfectly match the format we went to in the 90s.
And, that, beyond all else that has been said, is why I KNOW they are fake. Whoever forged these documents had some knowledge of standard memo formats...from the wrong era.
Speaks volumes about their experts.
