Is Cindy jealous of Katrina? Of Rita?

Someone identified as "Cindy Sheehan," the newly arrested Peace Mom, is vexed that Hurricane Rita stole Cindy's thunder. That was after Rita bumped Katrina out of the way.

Rita's wet, windy weekend tantrum on the Gulf Coast, in fact, so seduced the newspapers and television networks that Cindy's splashy anti-war protests in Washington were bumped out of the biggest, blackest headlines.

Why should that be sarcasm? I don't know about writer33, but I certainly want the MSM covering Cindy all the time. I want the last five minutes of every newscast to be commentary from "absolute moral authority" Mother Sheehan. I want there to be a Cindy channel on cable: live video 24/7, like The Truman Show. She divides the left, alienates the center and energizes the right. Her mere existence forces Hillary! to run right when she really needs to be running left. What's not to love about this crackpot's insane spew? To quote some French-looking guy I saw on TV once: "Bring. It. On."

There are signs, in fact, that Mrs. Sheehan's celebrity, which waxed through the summer news doldrums, might be waning.

Of course. The White House press corps was camped out there with Cindy while Cindy was camped out in Crawford when President Bush was on Summer vacation. The press corps HAD nothing better to do than to sit around and cover Sheehan and her dregs in a ditch vigil ad-nauseum.

And I will disagree... I don't care how much it polarizes and splits the left.. energizes the right or alienates the center...this becomes the politics of personal destruction... the more she is on the more time she is given the more she brings down the name of her son that is no longer here to defend himself. Casey served proudly and reenlisted so he believed in the task he was assigned to do.

The more we let cindy uses his name, and by that letting the MSM use it to rally their partisans the more it gives encouragement to those who fight against us... both forgien and domestic.

I don't think it is smart to allow propaganda to be played ad nausem while we are trying to fight a war.

The left today is an uneasy counterpart in our political process. The more the feel alienated or separated from the process the bigger danger the become as a real enemy...

We have to treat this war the same as WW2 this is not a fight over just terrorist acts we are fighting and ideology of hatred, the adage goes the enemy of my enemy is my friend.. and with the loonies over at DU seeing the terrorists in Iraq as freedom fighters. The polls are quite clear on this: Outside of the hard-left minority, the more people see of Cindy, the less they like her. She already has alienated the center, and that's going to get nothing but worse now that the national conversation has moved on from Iraq. The center has made up its mind that the situation in Iraq is tolerable for the time being, and that there are more important issues to deal with at home right now. Every time Cindy opens her mouth to talk about Iraq, another moderate starts wishing she would just shut up already. I want every leftist politician—but most especially Hillary—to be forced to define themselves with respect to her.

The danger we face is not that the Left become so frenzied with hatred for America that they ally with the Islamofascists: That ship sailed long ago. I'm a conservative Jew with close family in Israel; the notion that the Left hates me so much that they will form common cause with terrorists and murderers seeking to kill me and my kin is old hat to me. The danger is that the Left might do what the Islamofascists cannot and put on a respectable, reasonable face.

Given a choice between the mouthpiece of the Left being a shrill crackpot like Cindy or a glib snake charmer like Hillary, you better believe I'll pick the former. The center of this country sees through Cindy Sheehan, because she's clumsy and drunk on fame. Hillary, on the other hand, is far too experienced and shrewd to reveal what she really believes. Cindy Sheehan is a millstone around the neck of those who want to destroy this country, and I don't want them to shake loose of her easily.

We'll just have to disagree on this one.

BTW I do agree that Hillary need to be marignalized any way that it can be done... She and Boxer and Fienstien are all far left socialists that need to be exposed for what they are...The new face of socialism in this world... I have no reservations in thinking that if Hillary were to get into office that she would continue to try to convert America to a socialist state in any way she could.

You are so right....until Crawford, Cindy was seen as a grieving mom that the Kerry campaign thru moveon.org was helping. Once her message drifted into Israel they got alarmed...now she is aligned with every anti-America group at the rally and the democrats are in a panic! Go to any liberal website and see the in-fighting over this. They are very disturbed that Cindy's rally was sponsered by A.N.S.W.E.R.
