Involvement is the key. Hold your representatives accountable. Let them know they have to please you and the other constituents, not the press or the Inside-the-Beltway crowd.

I write Charlie Bass all the time. Last week he voted to extend Hate Crimes Legislation, today, he voted to extent Head Start. Writing does no good. In fact Charlie has stopped writing me back.

Hold your representatives accountable. A practical suggestion in theory. However, I have found that the size of my contribution doesn't buy much accountability, which I'm guessing is the case with most voters.

"Involvement is the key. Hold your representatives accountable." Designer is still trying to exert some small measure of influence at the local level. Having served on several local committees, trying to steer the platform toward some semblance of educated conservatism, I find that the state and national level is completely bought and paid for by the insiders. What chance do a few of us have at the local level when all the power brokers are against us?
