Shame on Italy!
26th september 2005 | an italian

Posted on 09/26/2005 11:50:00 AM PDT by an italian

My dear FRiends, I’ve something to say you about my Country. And it’s something really shameful if you consider that I love my Country as I’ve never loved nothing, nobody. (I wanna become an ambassador because of this great love I feel, I wanna serve Italy representing her all over the world: but there are times in which you can rest in silent on the shames of your beloved Land).

The fact is that: there was an Islamic School in Milano and we closed it because it was illicit. After this school was closed on health and security grounds, some 30 children have improvised class on the pavement after their parents failed to convince local authorities to re-consider the case. The via Quaranta school, attended by more than 500 children, had been operating for more than ten years without official recognition from the Italian state and following the Egyptian curriculum. (In Italy not in Egypt!!! If they wanna study following the Egyptian curriculum, why don’t they move to Egypt???).

But the story is not over. The demonstration by parents and children at the Islamic 'Fajr' school in Milan continues, but there will be no lessons in Arabic in the street today. There is sadness in the air, as children play chase, the parents talk amongst themselves. One of the mothers is angry and asks the press not to film the scenes. "Leave us to our pain" she says. (their pain???? Their pain??? And what about my country????)

And today (26th September 2005) Demonstrations by the Northern League have ended as have discussions between the Green party and representatives of the Fajr Islamic school in Milan and parents and children have begun to protest again outside the school. "We will continue to protest until the situation is resolved" said a mother, "we want that a programme that is half in Italian and half Arabic, but the hours proposed for the study of Arabic are insufficient." The Northern League just think that we are in Italy and not in Arabia and if they want to study following the “Egyptian curriculum” at least they have to respect the law and be recognized by the educational bureaucracy of the Italian State. Moreover, not far from this school there is a Mosque, illicit it too. They want it closed as the school. One of these guys said on tv today “I wanna the law will be respected and not the League”.

Am I wrong if I defend my Culture and my Country????

(sorry my bad English)

Claudia

"Leave us to our pain"

It hurts to not train Jihad replacements.

Muslims have no respect for our laws, and then demand that we live by theirs. This will increase.

There are plenty of 'hoods here in the U.S. that look just like that, alas.

how could it [have] happened???

Political correctness + fear.

You are right to protect both your country and your culture. Many good Christians died to stem this hoard, now that much of Europe has adopted the platforms of the Greens and Reds they were invited in.

Are you familiar with the term Euroweenies? IMHO it's just a matter of time, as the minarets continue to sprout all over Europe.

As Christianity dies in Europe and Islam surges what do they think the eventual outcome will be anyway?

BTW I love Italy and I've NEVER seen a deli like PECKS in Milan, wow!!

Italy is in a lot of trouble this way...just like the rest of western Europe.

I presume these people went to Italy because of the opportunities there? Therefore, they should assimilate.

My family came here from Italy in 1906. All of their kids born here received English first names and were encouraged to grow up as Americans. And they did.

A few of us can still speak a few words of Italian, but in two generations my family became American from top-to-bottom and from left-to-right. And we thank God for it.

Viva l'America! Viva Italia!

I'm not sure if you are right. Providing that this school isn't some kind of terrorist indoctrination center I don't see what's wrong with parents raising their children in keeping with their traditions. If it's an immigration problem the real solution is to deport the foreigners rather than close their school.

Dear Claudia, we have the same problems here so you and your country are in good company. Your english is fine and your country is a wonderful place. I would encourage any American to see Italy.

They turn our liberal democracy against us like a weapon, demanding special exceptions for themselves and tying us up in knots while they slowly take over and corrupt our values. Look what happened to France, they have so many muslims that they now they are always on the side of terrorist countries, even the attitudes of ordinary Frenchmen have swayed with the islamic immigrants. Meanwhile, the fifth column breeds a new generation of terrorists in their hate filled madrassa schools, even in Italy. Look at those children, how many will be suicide bombers someday.

It's sad to say, but cheap labor was needed in Europe (and Italy) so they let the Muslims come in to do the jobs that others in Italy didn't want to do (sound familiar?)

All you Italians have to do is kick them out of your apartments and your schools. They will move on to Germany and to France (hopefully).

Good luck!

Claudia -- of course you are doing the right thing. And I certainly hope to see you as Italy's ambassador to the US some day. Italy is one of the most wonderful places on earth, and it will take people like you to keep it that way. I was fortunate to be able to spend several happy weeks in your city, and then more time traveling around your beautiful country. I too encourage other Freepers to visit Italy, especially while our solid ally Berlusconi is Prime Minister. And we hope you re-elect him!!

Claudia,

I'm a little confused. From your post, it seems that Italy has done something that the rest of us should so. You have no reason to feel shame, but pride. Italy has lit a torch to show the rest of the world how to handle these folks.

You and the Italian authorities are exactly right. If the school is operating outside of Italian law, it should be closed. In addition, Italy does not have to allow an illegal Muslim school to operate nor does it have to give in to their demands to teach these children Arabic for a certain number of hours each day. If they want to learn Arabic and be taught in a Muslim school, they can go to Egypt.

But, as you pointed out, they are in Italy and they need to do things the Italian way (and there's NOTHING wrong with that!!!)

As for being an ambassador for your country, you already are. Just reading your post reminded me of the many videos I have seen of the bella Italia and made me want to go there even more.

You are not wrong. While most countries have religious schools for different religions, they still teach a balanced cirriculum of math, language, science, etc....

Islamic schools teach nothing but the Koran all day long. Its bad enough this is their idea of education in their own countries, but when they come to other countries and try to run these as schools, its unacceptable and should never be appeased. The islamic school system is a major reason Europe has so a huge problem with muslim immigrants lack of integration into society.

You have every right to defend your culture and your wonderful country.

What did you think when your country went from the Lira to the Euro? I met two nice Italian men on the way from Venice to Milano and they said they'd lost almost 50% of their buying power since the switch.

BTW, I love Italy it's one of my top two countries to go to in Europe. Italians are the nicest people (my wife is a 100% Italian) and they really make you feel welcome. I miss the Lira, it was neat to spend over 100,000 Lira on something (about $30 to $45 dollars).

Once the Islamacists get a foothold in your country, then they start demanding Sharia law and will expect Italy to cater to their laws. Keep up the fight.

The reality is that the Muslims have infiltrated every country in the world with the intent of world domination. [No, I'm not wearing my tinfoil hat.]

tinfoil hat = conspiracy theory

I wish they would close all the Mosques and Islamic schools in America and send their attendees all home where they like their country and don't crab about it and try to destroy it.
