Actually, I don't personally mind if teachers mention ID or creationism. I would mind if something that is not science is forced into science classrooms as a matter of policy.

And yes, my kids went to public schools. My son's middle school science teacher -- a graduate of a fine Christian college -- informed him that snakes do not have bones.

So yes, I'm aware that all kinds of nonsense is being taught. Nothing about this is particularly new. Back in the early 50s I had a teacher who never let a week go by without telling us that the only good Jap was a dead Jap.

Fortunately my kids got into good AP biology classes, sans creationism, and aced their AP exams.

Both my daughters took honors biology in high school, got excellent grade, and STILL don't believe in evolution. But they learned what they had to in order to get the grades.
