One of my most memorable moments was when John Belushi was the musical guest, and he sang the song With A Little Help From My Friends and during the climax of the song, he was flopping around on the stage like a fish out of water pouring beer all over himself.

What was even better was about 6 months later they had Joe Cocker on (Who Belushi was imitating in the song/show) and he did the same thing (with Belushi watching from the side of the stage). It was classic!

I've heard about that one but never seen it. I'll bet Belushi had chugged a few to get into the mood.

I remember that! We used to joke, "is it live, or is it Memorex?" he had Joe Cocker down pat : )
Those were the golden years of SNL. Remember the skit of "the guest that wouldn't leave?" Jane Curtain, I forget who the man was, but John Belushi was the guest.
