This bears repeating. My jaw dropped when I read that.

My editor remembers some exchanges with W.E. Gutman in 1993 in his position as press officer for Israel. As you can imagine, they were rather unfruitful. She remembers he came in with the Rabin administration, but left very abruptly two years later. This was not the customary way of having a transition of press officers.

We've done some research on him, and he writes mostly for leftist/conspiracy theory-type press. For them, his bio is purged of any reference to his stint working for Israel.
