"WAS THAT MARINE ONE?? I thought Bush was still in TX today?"
He was due to come back at 1600. I knew, but wasn't going to mention it before he landed. Ahh, nice to know the Potomac is in the hands of a grown-up who takes their duty seriously and can keep a secret! (But admit it, you were dying to tell us, right? /teasing) ;-)
It's awesome to know the President gave us a flyover, however inadvertent it might have been! (GAB, did you read my #1154 above?)
Thank you SO much for your service, and your moving prayers upthread.

It probably could have been picked up by the press--but if someone is too lazy to get the President's schedule on my watch, I'm not going to give away freebies.
I don't do much. The real heroes, in my opinion, are the men and women of Station Washington, from the seaman two weeks out of boot camp through a lot of fine petty officers and the Chief (hope you're 100%) and the XO and CO; and the fine men and women of Sector Baltimore, whom I work with on a regular basis. I get to sit in a cozy radio shack and listen to radios; they're out in the cold and dark and wet with M-16s and M-240s, securing our cities.
I also want to salute my fellow Auxiliarists, who, for love of country and their fellow men and women, give up their precious free time to enable a "gold side" Coastie to be on patrol, and who make sure recreational boating and fishing are safe sports. In a way, they are double volunteers; the perks are relatively small, and getting up at Oh-dark-thirty is hard on older bones, but they do it!
May God protect our nation, and may God specifically protect our Coast Guard. Grant us, o Lord, that we may always be true to our motto, "Semper Paratus," and give us protection from the wind and the wave and the violence of man. We pray this in the name of Him Who calmed the waves and the water, Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Kevin, here is one
Dynamic Clip from your speech on Sunday.
Man did you ever fire up the crowd, GRATE job!
Sarcie it has been confirmed that President Bush knew we were there and flew lower than usual to say "Hi." He knows who his friends are...
