What was the point of you putting all of that in My Comments view?

You can ask the mod to remove it. I won't mind.

The article cites the violation of a very complex and long article, but not any specific part of it In other words, what is he charged with exactly?

There is a sentence in there that says an illegal alien can't own a fire arm, but it seems at a glance that this Section of our law is mostly concerned with the illegal importation of weapons.

So is he a gun runner, or did he just get caught owning a rifle?

Back in my post one I think there were articles in there about weapons and drugs coming in with the gangs. The gangs are being used as runners. I even have a few articles in that thread at post one about known terrorists working directly with them.

We really need to step up security on the border. It's getting out of hand.

You are repeating buzz phrases; but you have no idea what point of entry he came from.

It has been propagandized that everyone is strolling across the Mexican border.

Yet, no one has paid mind to the illegals that are smuggled in on airplanes and through our ports.

ICE is shutting down a lot of human trafficking networks. You won't see that in the MSM though.

It doesn't matter what port of entry he came in from. That all kinds of people are strolling across the Mexican Border, or the Canadian Border, or any Port of Entry for that matter, is neither propaganda nor a buzz phrase, it's a fact.

That we are giving this the full attention it deserves I have to seriously doubt.

Look at this article. Yea. We caught one. Wow.

We have yet to put even a dent into this problem. We have an estimated 10 million illegal aliens in this country, right now. And it is only going to get worse if we don't do something.

I bet this guy came up through Mexico. If you confirm otherwise, let me know.

"U.S. Code as of: 01/06/03 "

Here is link to actual code -- 18 USC section 922

The pertinent section is 922(d) ---

"(d) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person -
" (1) is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
" (2) is a fugitive from justice;
" (3) is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 802));
" (4) has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution;

" (5) who, being an alien -
--" (A) is illegally or unlawfully in the United States; or
--" (B) except as provided in subsection (y)(2), has been admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa (as that term is defined in section 101(a)(26) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(26))); "

Title 18 section 922(g) is more pertinent, since it says illegal alien may not "possess."

I think they (ICE) are doing all the can with what they have. But, as one FReeper put it, it's like pumping the water out of the city of New Orleans. You have to fix the levee's first.

One of my points I was trying to make about 'propaganda' is the illegals aren't just coming over the borders. But the 'propaganda' keeps the focus there. They are coming in through networks that consist of airlines and ports (and whatever other clever means). That falls under local and state jurisdiction. Not just federal.
