I wouldn't put Dylan in that company. He is probably the last great american poet, very talented (though not a talented voice), and if you check out the first volume of his memoirs you will see that he isn't nearly as subversive as you suspect.

a bit of a poet indeed.

some here should can their hatred for anyone over 40.

the voting statistics speak for themselves.

Gen X and Gen Y are both more liberal so far.

And the majority of boomers were never hippies or nor ever marched against the Vietnam war.

The Great Society was given to us not by boomers but by their parents and grandparents.

Now...do boomers simply overshadow following generations in numbers? Oh yeah.

I'm at the peak of the boomers and I always felt like I was trailing the curve too.

Anyhow....one could do worse than Dylan....a lot worse.

He really always wanted to be a Buddy Holly...not a folk poet.
