The man continues to tour to sold out shows world wide, could probably never work another day and just live off of royalties in a richer fashion then most Doctors and can continue to do exactly what he has always wanted to do... make music to please himself w/o care of his music's impact on anyone other than himself.
Most aspiring celebs would give their eye teeth to have a 'tanked' career such as his, has been since the 80's.
