Lions are open-country predators. They do not live in the forest. They live in the plains and desert. So how is deforestation supposedly effecting them?

The same way Bush has been whipping up hurricanes with his secret weather machine.

Supposedly the deforestation affected them indirectly by causing drought conditions in their hunting areas. I am thinking that those would be the savanna/grasslands. However, in drought conditions, everything doesn't just instantly die off. There are typically a lot of weak/thirsty/malnourished animals about. At times like that, predators like lions have easy pickings. Methinks there is some other causal factor for these events.

Story kinda looses it's oomph without the evil capitalists ravaging the earth and disrupting the precious lives of animals as opposed to humans.

At least they're able to hunt them without some enviro Judge ruling that we must sacrifice housepets and children at the Environmentalists altar.

Since when were there trees in Ethiopia. It is a friggin' desert an no one would live there without the aid of the American government and generous donators.

That was exactly my first thought when I read this!

Obviously, the "reporter" is a Greenie Activist. I would love to have him substantiate his claim.
