I will not defend Blanco.

Yes, New Orleans is Corrupt.

However, I nor my friends or family needed the Nanny State to Evacuate us from the City. In fact, I was on the phone with family and friends on Friday night and Saturday morning making sure all had a way out.

The people worked together and saved their own lives.

I'm certain that a lot of people DID work together. And there was a relatively small percentage of people who hurt other people, stole water from women, raped children, looted private homes.

And your Mayor and Governor tried to point fingers at the feds instead of pointing fingers at what was the worst leadership, if you can call it that, I've ever seen in my life.

On the Sunday before the hurricane struck, I told my husband I'd never seen such inept leadership in all my life.

You are the second person to tell me that Nagin is the best mayor New Orleans has ever had. I'm willing to believe that. And it makes the situation in New Orleans all the more sad. Because he's the worst I've ever seen.
Ever.

And as far as their pointing their fingers at the feds -- FEMA was in New Orleans on Wednesday. I watched the press conference where they announced they had to withdraw because they were being shot at.

And still the Governor did NOT ask for federal troops to quell the situation. How many people waiting for help that was delayed because the Governor is an idiot? An incalculable number.
