Out of an appreciation for the speed of its growth, and the sturdiness of its fiber, I had previously arranged to start a stand of it down by the firing range. Naturally, it took off, and started growing like, well, growing like bamboo!
I figured with DC's help we could get a bamboo plywood facility going for the shanties, cottages, utility sheds and other edifices in the castle enclosure and attendant enclosures.
So far, all we've been able to produce has been a two foot by eight foot, half-inch thickness board, but it is strong and light, and we can fit as many as eight at a time into the spherical elevator cars for distribution. Glued up at the site into laminations, it makes good beams for floors and roofs.
I've used it in my own cottage behind the castle, near the tree-line, along with some simulated shake shingles and foamstone. I'm very pleased with the results.
I'll be back Monday Morn...
Until then, just be sure to keep airlock #14 closed for the time being...
