Things are okay, I guess. Too busy, and too little time at home thanks to weekends lost to work & travel and a policy against "comp time" from our "new" owner. (The "work" part is writing magazine/journal articles -- I cannot write well in the office, so I do those at home. On weekends. Kind of fun in a way; a lot of people read them, and I get lots of positive comments about the articles explaining our technology.)

It hit home yesterday when I took the day off -- in part 'cuz I *really* needed time away from the office and in part because the goodwife had finally returned home late the night before from back East.

Had two "fun" home computer projects to take on that had been sitting around for a while. Got one done this morning after much wrangling over one small detail that just wouldn't go right. Got started on the second, but had to drop it to head out to the party for the local Free Republic chapter (in a good cause!).

But it's got me seriously thinking about finding a new job. The fit here, never good for the past five years, is not getting any better.
