NO? I thought it was.
Eliott Spitzer is the Attorney General of the State of New York. This subpeona was issued by the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York (a position once held by Rudy Giuliani, BTW). It is a completely different person. Used to be Mary Jo White. Don't know who is in that position now.
Spitzer is a political hack with a long a tawdry history of headline grabbing politically motivated prosecutions. But he is not involved in this particular case.
If it's true, if, Frist deserves what he gets.
Where did you get that information? It sounds very interesting.
after posting, I looked it up .. a guy named Michael J. Garcia is now US Atty for SDNY .. Spitzer is the one I was thinking of but thought he was state v. federal. I still doubt that this is much of a case, but one never knows.
Every year, by law congress releases some financial information about the values of the blind trusts.
I don't know the exact date when they will do it again, but despite the ranges, you can grasp which senators are the wealthyest (this is going to be avalable in the free republic archives).
I know that Bill Thomas is one of the poorest members of the house and Rick Sanctorum is one of the least if not the least rich senator.
The released info by congress always has strange little tidbits, and usually some leaked info about investments or assets.
I think they released alot of this info around primary season during the presidential campaign, because one of the things that popped up was how rich Dick Gephardt actually was.
You should be able to find most of this in the archives here on F.R.
The ratmedia will tie their own tails in a knot with this type of stuff once again. Their little minds can't process very well, so I'll help them out. Attention ratmedia your attacks on Frist may kill his chances to be the GOP presidential nominee in 2008, but your chosen candidate mcpain (media) Az will not take the prize either. Stuff like this will only drive the rank and file GOP to George Allen who will crush any rat you put up."
