I thougt Amber Alerts werent supposed to be used in parental cases? Also why does everyone assume a child wouldnt be safe with his father?Maybe there is more to the story,,Fathers Have Rights Too!

That's why I suspected there was more to the story than the father simply taking the child.

I'm not the one who runs the Amber Alert site, so I couldn't tell you why they run some that are parent abductions.

I would guess that they use the Amber Alert system for those children who are considered to be in danger. There may be a history of abuse and a restraining order against the father...at any rate, he ran off with the kid...if he were a good father, he wouldn't have done that.

This father overstepped his boundaries, and will probably lose any rights he had.

Obviously youve never been part of a custody dispute.Mothers make fake charges all the time to stop children from being with thier fathers, and the courts do absolutely nothing. We dont know all the circimstances in this case, but to say the father is no good without also knowing the facts is just as bad.

I didn't say the father was no good...I just said he was wrong to run off with the kid.

You couldn't be more wrong about me never being part of a custody dispute. I had to fight hard to get my kids back when their father took them and told lies about me.

He has most recently ruined his chances to take the kids for visits because he admitted in open court, under oath, that he is living with a convicted/registered female sex offender.

Maybe the mother was beating the child. The mother always gets the benefit of the doubt.

I know cases where the mother didn't get custody, and didn't get the benefit of the doubt. I don't think any of us know the details of this case so it's difficult to do more than look at what is written and try to make suppositions.
I suppose in a perfect world the courts would never involve themselves in custody issues, in fact, there would never BE custody issues since all people who decided to have a child would act like ADULTS, stay together and raise the child together. Ah...for a perfect world.

His father is mental ill and not on his medication. Any father who must break in to the mothers home in the middle of the night and scare a child is wrong.
