To: Knitting A Conundrum

New Iberia is 23 feet ASL on the south side, 16 feet ASL on the north.

Right now, anecdotal reports have flooding from Lake Charles to New Iberia to just south of Houma.

I doubt that's rain water, which means it came ashore with velocity.

CNN reporter..there is a small area in NO that wasn't flooded with Katrina but is now...how bad we don;t know she was qouting the army corp of engineers

It did what storm surge does sometimes...the sea rises slowly like an extra-high high tide, comes in after the the worst of the windstorm, and just keeps rising until it's done.
