A lot of my family is from the Stephenville area but we've lived all over the country. Happy to be back in Texas however!
One branch of my family migrated from AR about 1880, landed in Johnson County. Another branch comes through Denton to Johnson county and then to points south by way of TN via IL.
A third branch stops off from MS to Johnson County.
But they don't merge together until they go to OK.
Go figure.
