Seems to me that the real question is "will it pass IF it comes out of committee?"

If not, then there's no rush at all to push it out of committee.

The author is leaving congress to become governor of Nevada.
It is doubtful that his replacement will have the guts to carry on with this bill.
The veterans most likely to be affected are dying at a rate of about 300 per day.

The bill is a small measure of justice for our veterans and their heirs, that it is not getting more support is shameful.
