Poor Rita. She's the "straw that broke the camel's back".
All of these reactions actually mask the average person's natural gut feeling that "something is just not right about all of this".
It's the major news media TV management types who have'nt a clue as to who should bring us the news.
Until 9/11, having some overmade-up floozie from the chorus line read the news was kind of OK. And the parade of dolled up,well endowed, vacant faced news babes was well underway...along with the emphasis on "scandal sheet" news stories to match.
Not everyone agreed... and ratings started slipping, imperceptively but steadily as the news hour transformed itself into a slick version of the National Inquirer.
Then came 9/11 and all that "Pzazz" seemed totally out of place...even offensive.
Nothing was funny and, undeniably, nothing was sexy or provocative about having some "news tart" reading the names of the victims. And it only became worse from there.
Yet the age of news as "Infotainment" was well underway! And the mustard came off the hotdog!
News men were touted as "analysts and journalists' and the sucessors to the Walter Cronkite and Harry Reasoners.
But they really were'nt.
Many were really blow-dried news reader 'boys' and their female counterparts were worse.
Facing declining ratings, the hot-shot management types were "improving their reciepes" in everyway their desperate minds could dream up. And polls were pointing to the popularity of the vacant-eyed news babes.
Now with world class calamities and heart breaking news stories coming up, guess whose number is coming up as totally "Out-Of-Place"?
You guessed it.
Yes! We will keep our Lorie Dhue, but we might take a harder look at others, especially the gals from the wrong side of the tracks. We aren't making this a casting call for sturdy farm girls either. But when our sons and daughters names are read on a Iraq casualties list we will not be expecting Las Vegas types at the mikes. There's gonna be a pleasant change of staff behind the scenes to help make sure this happens soon.
Our Rita is the reason why.

Dick, I see you like Laurie or Lori, too. I'm strictly hereosexual, but she is a joy to watch and to listen to. I remember when I first started watching Fox News -- it was during the beginning of the Iraqi War (2003) and I guess the military guys were just crazy about her!

My other two favorites to watch are the Beltway Boys - especially Fred Barnes. Also, Tony Snow - can't forget him.

But my all time political commentary favorite is: Rush Limbaugh!!
