Ontario: Province Courting Gay Physicians

Ontario will attempt to lure disgruntled gay and lesbian U.S. medical professionals to the province, Health Minister George Smitherman said yesterday, after finishing a two-day soft sell to a gathering of gay health workers in Montreal. Smitherman, who became Ontario's first openly gay cabinet minister in 2003, said the province was capitalizing on Canada's image for left-leaning values - which includes gay marriage legislation.

They are welcome to them. Bet they get a lot of former Navy docs. (Not slamming the Navy, but when my ex-husband was in the Marine Corps, we noticed a LOT of the Navy physicians were special.)

Gotta love Canada - the red tape, the high taxes and the politically correct lifestyle. The big mystery is why American liberals aren't moving there en masse. It seems to be a country that gives them everything they loathe in America.

Absolutely pathetic. Just what Ontario DOES NOT need: more disgruntled physicians, straight or queer.

The health care is "free" but most people do not have one of those "free" general practitioners.

I doubt they get one volunteer.
