There was some damage, but this will not be a disaster with national ramifications, IMHO.In my corner of the world it was a disaster. I have a tree on my house and so do many of my friends.
I heard the refineries in Pt. Arthur didn't fare well but hope that is false info.
I'm still thankful I left when I did. Needed new carpet anyway!

But Valero Energy reported Saturday that recovery teams found "significant damage" to its oil refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, following the hurricane. Shell reported wind damage to its Motiva facility in Port Arthur. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/09/24/rita/index.html

Hey!
So sorry to hear about the damage, but I'm glad you got out of harm's way. I know it wasn't easy.
I thought about you as the storm was moving up east Texas, but I just missed making contact with you in the following days.
I hope you are comfortable where ever you are and if there is anything I can help with just let me know.
