I have good friends who live in the Montrose area of Houston.

They've been without power since about 2:30 a.m. last night. Power still out. They heard a loud explosion, which they figured was a transformer. As yet, they haven't any word on how long the outage will be.

Apparently, they only get a recording when they call the designated Reliant Energy phone number.

It's not of course, but being without air-conditioning in this Houston climate seems like a fate worse than death!!!!!

Apparently, they only get a recording when they call the designated Reliant Energy phone number.

Reliant has 600,000 customers without power and has said repeatedly on TV and radio, not to call, they know who is out. In a couple of days if their neighbors have power and they still do not, then they should call.
