Can someone assure me that Rita is not turning around and coming back this way right now? My brother is taking off the boards from the windows. I don't have the battery power to sit here and search for current news.. I'm trying to let relatives know we're okay via email.

If Rita loops it will just come back as a rain event.

If the storm does come back it won't be as TD and a rain maker not a full blown hurricane. It doesn't have the warm water to feed it for strength. just my opinion of course.
