The Republicans have heroes. Guliani, "Der Arnold", other Govs (Barbour, Perry), some great Senators, etc.

This is another of Hillary's give and take ploys. If there was not an outcry against it, and I mean a big one, she'd not bother to weigh in and do any political damage . In an article a month or so back, Mark Steyn listed the money and individuals behind the International Freedom Center. The people in charge are virtually all leftists and, while the donations come from a number of left wing groups, chief among them was George Soros.
How the hell they managed to hijack this memorial project is beyond me, but someone at some point exercised poor judgment in allowing them so much control and influence over the concept. Seeing the backers, you could almost predict the result.
