It is a WHOLE block so it could be 2 of 4 street names...but seems to be a boarding house, bond company and eagle lodge...one woman seriously burned 3rd degree has been removed...

Thanks, so many different stories. Ch 2 just had the head of the Galveston Historic District Foundation on the phone and when they "went to her," the line was dead.

Well, a different reporter said it was built in 1963, not 1863. Huge difference!

Update: They got the Historic Foundation lady back on the phone, Jan Puckett. She said the 1905 house was on the corner and had been in disrepair and was 3 apartments, plus an antique shop on the lower floor, owned by an elderly lady. The building had originally been an architect's office.

The Foundation building was directly behind this and was also threatened. It was built in 1861.
