A co-worker that lives in Tomball was determined to leave Wednesday evening, even though Rita was not predicted to be here until late Friday/ early Saturday. Had the selfish people like her waited, it would not have taken people (like my brother) 20 hours just to get to Tomball.

Oh please. That's an idiotic comment. There's nothing selfish about getting out early. Suggest your brother try it next time.

Statement makes no sense anyway. How would someone leaving early to get away from the storm even affect someone headed for that town from the other side?

There is something selfish about those that live inland to leave at the same time as those that live on the coast. For your education purpose, coastal areas receive more water, wind and damage than those that live inland.

My brother, who lives in the coastal area, left his house at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. It took him 30 hours to get to his destination, which normally is a four hour drive.

If the chicken-shit selfish inland people would have waited one day, the traffic would not have been so horrible.
