Actually,

When we built our house in 1988, my great grandfather came to visit often. I always told him the front bedroom was his.
He passed away a year later.

We often sit in the living room and hear footsteps upstairs. They seem to originate in that room and go down the hall. Many, MANY people have heard these footsteps over the years.

I must emphasize that in no way do I feel threatened by these sounds. Pop was a kind and gentle soul. I just have to wonder if that's him watching over us...you know?

That desearves a thread to itself. My grandfather was an old son of a...but I loved him and could share a story or two.

That reminds me -- years ago (actually the day Bobby Kennedy was shot) my grandfather died.. we were really close, one day I was reading an Edcar Casey book and thinking about him really strong, went into the bedroom to read and my dog followed me and froze at the door, would not go into the room no matter how I coaxed.

I went out and told my husband we had a ghost and he laughed at me so I said come see what I mean... he came into the room with me and our dog would not go into the room. It was several hours before he suddenly bounded into the room like nothing had ever happened.

I didn't actually see it, but there was a definitely presence. I think it freaked out my husband, but he never admitted it..
