Drink!
Either Shep has a lot of grey hair .. or his hair is turning white
Why does it seem all the kooks have come out of the woodwork. Boric Acid works on Roaches, what works for kooks?
That's got to be a six or seven hatter.
Rita has not made landfall yet. She has moved a bit more westward during the last hour. Appears it will be another hour or so. The eyewall has been right on the shore though. Actually there has been more than one eyewall with this thing. Damage is being done over a pretty wide area.
The bad thing is,if Blank-O gets recalled, Landrieu's brother is Lt Governor. Does a recall work differently than an impeachment? I mean,if Blank-O is recalled there would be another election,instead of Mark Landreu becoming Governor?
Still has 130 mph sustained peak winds ?
You're welcome.
Shep almost fell down, lost his hat, but he made his way back to the yellow pole.
My count is 6.........and boy am I drunk!~
and that's just from tonight!
Eye has not yet hit land. But huge chunk of storm is and has been on land for hours.
Yes, if it's soon, or recently passed... the surge will be greater than if it was low tide.
Besides measured windspeed, this has all the earmarks of a very damaging storm. Looks a bit like hugo actually.
I read somewhere that an amazing number of dead bodies in NOLA were riddled with bullets.
I wondered how that happened. 8-)
Any reason why you suspect paranormal activity in your house or were you just experimenting? (Just curious/nosy as heck!)
12:15 AM - Peak wind gusts from official reporting stations around the forecast area, as of Midnight:
* Lake Charles 69 knots/79 mph #
* Beaumont 70 knots/81 mph
* New Iberia 51 knots/59 mph @
* Lafayette 45 knots/52 mph
* Fort Polk 40 knots/46 mph
* DeRidder 36 knots/41 mph
* Jasper 36 knots/41 mph
* Alexandria 33 knots/38 mph
# Official equipment has died, and it is the firm belief of the forecasting staff that the backup equipment is underestimating the wind speed based on the howling we're hearing outside
@ Unit here has also malfunctioned...last full observation came in at 7 PM

Beer nazi!
There is less than a case left......
I was wishing Shep would put some on.
Thanks.
That further info about it remaining high till 8am is no good.
I keep thinking back to the Bay Surge we saw with Katrina. I have a feeling we will see some more disturbing pictures in the coming days.
Why are NOLA police officers in Port Arthur?
