I say the guy knows what he is talking about.

I've heard him speak a few times, and he sure doesn't come across as a "kook".

It doesn't follow. Being an accurate TV weatherman DOES NOT ensure that your theories regarding weather--and lasers, spacemen, Hobbits, etc.--will automatically be good ones that meet the criteria of a good scientific theory.
