Wait, I'm confused. I seem to recall last year, Arkansas coach Houston Nutt, put pink jerseys on some players, and it was attacked for being insensitive to breast cancer survivors, so they stopped doing it.

Absolutely right. Some jails paint the cell walls pink to attempt to influence violent offenders. My guess is that the good Professor has a few bets down on the opposing teams...

There is a blurb about this in the latest ESPN magazine (p30). The walls were painted pink in the visitng players locker room because Fry thought it would "create a passive environment for the opponents." The idea has now carried over into the urinals, walls, etc also being pink.
So, homophobia had/has nothing to do with it.
By the way, the colors used are Innocence and Dusty Rose.
