NHC - NOAA ^ | 23 September 2005 | NHC - NOAA

Posted on 09/23/2005 9:39:06 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

The Republican senato (Vittner?) and Bobby Jindall are on my lengthening list of useless people. In my opinion, the entire political class in Louisiana, on both sides of the aisle, are totally corrupt.

Just federalize the damn state and make Honore the Military Governor. Say it's for emergency purposes. Then arrest all of them.

I have had it. I am getting dangerously close to the "who cares?" way of thinking about Lousiana.

I am to the point that I wouldn't think twice about dynamiting the river levee and putting ALL of New Orleans under water.

Can you tell that like cake crumb, I HAVE HAD IT!!

Yes, but Shep isn't smart enough to do it "Geraldo-style". For full effect you really need a human with that dog. Preferably an elderly lady with a dog. Most preferably an elderly lady with a dog, who is in need of medications.

Hey that's great. I can hit a paper plate from 400 yards pretty consistently. I could use the practice in windy weather too.

In the LONG TERM, however, history will be corrected to reveal Texas as an example of exactly how to function in an emergency situation, while New Orleans will be an example of exactly what NOT to do in an emergency situation.

Depends who writes the history
If any of today's crop from the liberal laundromats ( brainwashing colleges) are writing it then forget it . Bush will be the devil

Looks like it will be no more than a Cat 2 when it hits.

I certainly hope so, but time to bring it down that far is running out.

Now, according to Rush today, sen. mary landrieu (lower case for low woman) has introduced a bill asking for $250 BILLION to rebuild ALL of NO. She is completely ignoring the fact that we've already pouring big money (no telling how much at this date) plus the billions proposed by President Bush plus all the $$ and contributions and volunteers that have given their services and $$ to this mud hole. Oh, here I go....ranting too.

I wonder how many casinos and brothels one can buy with 250B?????

Category really doesn't matter now. Rita is interacting with the coast and weakening, but the surge is still coming and damage is going to occur.

Good. Maybe they can put Howard Sterns in the XM chopter and send him out to do a traffic report.
