just HOW do you make those images?? they are fantastic.

Do you start with a photograph of the real person and morph it into the cartoon-like image?

What software do you use?

Well... they are done all with PhotoShop (5.0 version). I am a portrait painter so I actually paint these. I use photos to go by but there's really no way to 'morph' a photo to look like a caricature. If you are familiar with PhotoShop, I use lots of layers to build up the cartoon. The color swatches and brushes menus are the mainstay, plus a lot of the burning and dodging tools. It's tedious and complex but MUCH faster digitally than the traditional way of illustrating. After all, I can copy/paste, enlarge, shrink, flip, rotate and such.

I taught myself the program for PhotoShop and developed this cartoon technique after I saw what was actually possible.

Why can a person promote a cartoon they made and it gets a pass, but I present part of my standup routine and it is zotted for self promoting vanity?
