Of all things to be "offended" over.....this woman is so dumb. What the heck difference does it make what a storm is named. Frankly, I would prefer more blacks be named good ole American names, where did "African-American" names come from anyway? Personally, I like unusual names, but I worry that people who are biased (especially businesses) may judge people with "African-American" names because of their names.

When you just make up funny-sounding names out of nowhere, you have a virtually endless number of names to use, after all.

And you know if they had given the hurricanes African-American names, they would whine about the fact that it is racist to name Hurricans after African-Americans, as if African-Americans were responsible.

I suggest if they want to use African names for Hurricanes, start with Amin, Mugabe, Mobotu or Bokassa.

You may be right, thanks. It really doesn't matter what someone is named, but I've heard of situations of job applicants where the name was the first impression. That sort of thing concerns me because there is no reason blacks can't be as successful as any one else.
