I'm in Canada but just heard from 2 friends in Houston that tried to leave and they can't do it, they don't have enough gas for the lineups. And they thought they had prepared enough.
There are times when getting a back pack, some immediate supplies and pitching out onto the highway with thumbs out. There are lots of generous people willing to pick up a few extra riders that will help share the expense.
