Which fault was the Ft. Tejon quake (1856?) on?

Ft. Tejon was indeed on the Southern San Andreas.

As I have mentioned on this forum before- if you're sitting on top of it, a 4.9 will defintiely get your attention. BTW- I live just a few miles from the epicenter.

When we feel one, by the time you realize what it is, it is too late to be scared.

Most of the time it's, "Who's drivin' that big truck so close to my house? Oh. It was an earthquake rattlin' the glasses."

Then there's the other times you look out the window to see the hills rolling like waves on the ocean. Just enough time to say, "Hunh?" before finding cover.

After checking, swarms of quakes around the White Wolf are pretty common; there was one with 70 quakes in 2002.
