WASHINGTON (AP) - Anti-war groups are using a $1 million ad campaign and a demonstration they say will attract 100,000 people to try to re-energize their movement and pressure the Bush administration to bring troops home from Iraq.
Organizers of Saturday's protest, which will take marchers past the White House, say it will be the largest since the war began more than two years ago.
Cindy Sheehan, the woman who drew thousands of protesters to her 26-day vigil outside President Bush's Texas ranch last month, is among those planning to participate.
"We want to show Congress, the president and the administration that this peace movement is thriving," said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, was killed last year in Iraq. "We mean business and we're not going to go away until our troops come home."

I hope these idiots have nice big signs so everyone can see just how loony they really are without their MSM filters.
"We made a vow after Sept. 11 that we would not allow the anti-American left to do to us this time what they did during Vietnam, which was wear down the morale of the American," FreeRepublic spokesman Kristinn Taylor said.
Taylor said a larger rally Sunday on the National Mall would honor military families.
((((PING))))
Let's quit calling these scumbags anti-war activists. Let's label them what they really are, anti-American.
Hey, at least they got it FreeRepublic.com instead of FreeRepublic.org like they usually do!
"...said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, was killed last year in Iraq."
This is getting as old as sKerry telling us he served in Viet Nam and got 3 Purple Hearts.
The Hurricane Rita coverage should take the anti war protesters off the news. If the rally is covered, the American people will say that this is no time to be causing a big stink. We have two major natural disasters to take care of. It's time to be pulling together.
This will warm the hearts of terrorists everywhere.
That won't deter the Anti-American peace protest cowards, who are convinced they're more important than everyone else.
Bush won't pay any attention to it, nor will anyone else with any sense.
I'm guessing that the actual numbers of protesters will be between 25,000 and 50,000 and I'm being generous.
RITA is going to blow their protest off the TV.
If you haven't yet read the piece today by Byron York called "The Cindy Sheehan Peace Train," I highly recommend it: http://www.nationalreview.com/york/york200509220828.asp
It does a great job of describing the kinds of pinko-commie-anarchists you'll see in DC on Saturday. Unfortunately for them, their timing sucks since the MSM will doubtless be devoted to coverage of Rita. Ooops, there goes another $1,000,000 of Soros' filthy loot.
gee, odd how they don't mention that impeachbush.org has this saturday as their DC rally.
What they expect some kind of spontaneous demand for impeachement? "on that day it was a revalation..."
delusional looneys.
no wonder McCain met with Shehan.
Spread the word. Cindy and all....the hurricane is JUST to throw you off. There IS no hurricane.
Get thee hence to Crawford.
"Organizers of Saturday's protest, which will take marchers past the White House, say it will be the largest since the war began more than two years ago."
People who have never been to a protest won't know that 99% of those there are from 100 other left wing groups. There all nuts of one kind or another on a band wagon, but not all really ani-war.
Plus many of them with be us counter-protesting them. :o)
