Recently signed a note opting my kid out of sex and AIDS education at school. Fourth grade is still too young for this stuff...and I want to control how this information is taught rather than having a pro-homo agenda.

This is what we did when our oldest reached 4 th grade. We were the only parents in her class to do so. I'll never forget the shocked/stunned/sick looks on the children's faces when they came out of school that day. It was proof to me that they teach way too much way too early, and that we'd done the right thing by keeping our child home.

However,it didn't help shield our child very much as the rest of the kids do learn it, and talk about it to your kid anyway.

That was our last year of public schooling.

Opting Out, per the law in MA, is what Mr. Parker was trying to do. Instead of the law being followed, he was given the run around for months, then finally was granted a meeting. A meeting where he got more run around, and was told "no". That is when he refused to leave. The law is on his side in this one!
