It sounds like all the major roads are parking lots. They are, it is total gridlock.
I've never seen anything like this before.
Three of five gas staions were closed around where I work
and those still operating had long lines. The ATM had been bled dry at Stop-N-Go.
Anybody on the southside of Houston heading northwest, I would suggest using mapquest to get to Damon, Tx(end of 1462), then taking the route from
Damon to Eagle Lake then on to where you're headed. You might have some slowdown crossing 288 and 59 and hopefully 90 won't be too bad.
