Did you see the interview? In the time it takes to change a price sign from $3 to $5.97 or near to that amount,a few others followed suit and panic ensued. The sign got picked up on MSM and the rest is history. The guy had no good answer for the reporter. Finally, the guy said he raised it to stop people from buying. Could have put a bag on the pump, but nooooo.

The gas station owner who jacked up his gas prices to $5.97 was also fined by the State $5,000 per occurrence.

Next time I bet he just puts the bag on the pump.

I didn't see the interview. Still there are cases I would rather pay $6 than look at a bag over a pump. People like this owner are often panicking themselves, topping off their own tanks and exacerbating the shortages everywhere else. There was one whining on CSPAN that he bought gas wholesale at $3.49 and was forced to sell it at $3.19. Well, duh!
